The University of Basrah owns large areas of greenhouses that produce various vegetables and fruits such as short-stemmed banana trees and date palms that are grown in the university's orchards. These crops and meat are subject to a harsh policy in terms of being healthy for human use, as they are constantly subjected to much laboratory work to check their suitability for safe use

The laboratories of the College of Agriculture at the University of Basrah always perpetuate the soil that incubates vegetables and fruits such as Food Research and Consumer Protection Laboratories / College of Agriculture, where many laboratory and field experiments are conducted to examine the safety of the soil for the production of healthy food.
