Sustainable industries of the University in 2022 were:
- Calves breeding field.
- Fish breeding field.
- Honey and Dates production field.
- Chicken breeding Company.
- Poultry Feed Company.
- Chemicals and chlorine plant.
- Polymer tiles manufacture.
- In line with the university's policy of encouraging innovation, fourteen patents were accomplish ed in the University of Basrah during 2018-2023.
The University signed two important international collaboration with The Iraqi Horticulture Development program, Italy and Wagenungen University Department of Environmental Science, Netherland to develop the sustainability of agriculture and environment.

Innovation
In line with the university's policy of encouraging innovation, five patents were accomplished in the University of Basrah during 2019-2023.
Manufactures
The University created and supported the Polymer tiles Manufacturer to sustain Gardens and Gangways in the University and to sell the products to others.
