The University of Basrah inaugurated the Women Empowerment Unit in the Bab Al-Zubair Colleges Complex in the presence of official civil, military and academic figures. The legal advisor and head of the Women's Empowerment Unit at the university, Sanaa Abdul Latif Al-Asadi, stated that the opening of our unit came as an embodiment of Security Council Resolution (1325), which supports security and community peace, which we aspire to be achieved by the leading Iraqi woman who has proven her presence in every detail of life.

Regarding the tasks of the Women Empowerment Unit, Al-Asadi stressed the need to include Iraqi women in general and Basrah in particular in international peace-making processes and make them an active participation in the formulation of national policies and legislation. of sexual violence and societal terrorism.

The Students Activities Unit in the College of Dentistry University of Basrah held a symposium on the concept of women's empowerment, which was attended by Assistant. Professor Dr. Rafid Mustafa AlBadr, Dean's Assistant in Administrative Affairs, Lecturer.Dr. Sundus Abdul Wadood, Dean's Assistant in Scientific Affairs and with a number of the College's employees. The symposium opened with a blessed recitation of the Holy Qur'an, followed by the reading of Surat Al-Fatihah for the souls of the martyrs of Iraq. The symposium of Sheikh Abd al-Ridha Maash, included a lecture where he talked about the importance of the women in the society and her role in raising the future generations.
