Remote Working

 


 

The University of Basrah has allowed remote working for both administrative and teaching works during the COVID-19 pandemic and after the pandemic, UOB adopted the same policy for remote working by developing several platforms. The following are some of important UOB platform for remote working.

 

 

 

 

1- We-learn Platform for E-Learning

The University of Basrah, in cooperation with the Media and Communications Commission, launched a platform for E-learning which provides several features such as a system for classifying the lectures according to type, a digital library containing millions of E-books, activity sessions, and a management system for the lecturer to manege several educational activities, not to mention the ability to conducting the exams.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The platform is also a system for managing E-learning which is called (LMS)


 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The lectures are categorized by type to provide a digital content management system (LCMS). Furthermore, the platform provides an electronic library linked to cloud storage in which lectures are stored according to type.


 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The platform provides a link with the Moodle application in smart devices and various operating systems to ensure ease of access by teachers and students.


 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The platform provides features of carrying out the assignments and examinations.


 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The platform is also characterized by the ability to be enhanced by adding more features, thereby the organization can continuously develop the services. The image shows the connection between the platform and Zoom meeting.


 

 

 

 

 

 

 


 

2- UOB SIS

It is a platform for collecting, preserving, and managing student information during their period in the university until he graduates. this platform is characterized by the ability to contain a huge number of data. The platform is also able to produce ID cards for students with a single barcode for each student, as well as the export of documents for graduates, which supports the effort toward the digital transformation of our university.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 


 

 

3- LMS

It is a platform for managing teaching schedules at the University of Basrah using the latest methods and programming techniques. This platform is characterized by a programmatic link with the UOB SIS platform to transmit information and ensure student registration through the announced schedules. The platform is also characterized by the possibility of containing a huge number of student-related data and providing statistical analysis and data visualization to those data.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 


 

4- MOOC

The Ibn Sina Center for E-Learning at the University of Basra has launched a website called "Massive Open Online Courses" offered free online. This achievement comes within the efforts of the University of Basra to achieve E-learning quality standards for educational content, which stipulates that the institution owns a platform for huge electronic educational courses and supports their use In regular education, academic training courses, and lifelong learning. The Massive Open Online Courses aim to improve the level and efficiency of education by issuing virtual educational courses that enhance lifelong learning for participants. The site includes easy access to educational training materials of all kinds and to obtain them by the largest possible number of learners.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 


 

 

4- Re-launch of Radio "Medad"

Re-lunched the Radio Medad channel, in coordination with the Media and Communications Commission in Iraq, which operates on the FM frequency at frequency 90.90 in Basra province to broadcast audio humanitarian lessons for students.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 


 

 

 

 

5-Launching a campaign to deliver lectures to students in faraway cities.

The University of Basra adopted the proposal of the Ministry of Higher Education to deliver lectures from different Colleges to the students in faraway cities (or any students who suffer to get the lectures). in cooperation with other Universities, the lectures were delivered even to the students living in the Outback areas. A telegram Chanel was also launched and all the lectures were uploaded accumulatively.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 


 

 

6- Launching a campaign to help students


The University of Basrah addressed all organizations and charitable institutions in Basrah province to provide the needed help for students of the University regarding providing the E-learning electronic devices. All organizations perfectly responded to the requests, hence thousands of tablets and laptops were delivered to the students. Furthermore, the Communications Commission of Iraq and Zain Iraq provided the usage of free internet to those students.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 


 

 

 

 

7-The Launching of UOB EXAM Platform

the University of Basrah programmers designed a platform for managing exams that export the reports and statistics necessary during the duration of exams which provided the accuracy and the rapid of exporting the exams reports. This platform is also characterized by ease and speed of use due to its design that is suitable to perform with simple internet packages.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 


 

 

 

 

8- The Launching of UOB OER Platform

The Ibn Sina Center for E-Learning which belongs to our University has launched a website that deals with the Open Educational Resources which were provided online free of charge in order to achieve the quality standards for E-learning. The Open Educational Resources aim to make educational resources available to participants and use their content for enhancing their learning and self-improvement. The site was also characterized by easy access to any educational training resources of all categories.
