For Security and safety

All University of Basrah facilities are subject to unified procedures to maintain security and safety on campuses.

Protection

All main gates in the university campus sites are subject to protection in cooperation administered by the University of Basrah and the Directorate of Facilities Protection in the province.

Fire Alarm

In all campus sites, fire alarm devices have been installed to ensure rapid response in the event of a fire or emergency.

Firebottle were distributed in all university buildings, according to the features of the building and usage.

Monitoring Systems

All buildings on all campuses are monitored by cameras to monitor all movements in those buildings.

Emergency Signals

All campus sites at the University of Basrah have emergency exits to ensure rapid and safe evacuation.

Guiding

All university buildings contain guiding posters which explain how to deal with emergency events based on the features of that building.

CBRN

In cooperation with the Directorate of Civil Defense and the Chemical, Bacterial, Radiological and Nuclear Consequences Management Committee (CBRN) in Basrah Governorate, the University of Basrah CBRN committee has been established which has sub-committees in most of the faculties. Those committees provide training courses on how to face disasters, deal with effects, and perform many experiments on how to evacuate buildings rapidly in case of fires, as well as procedures for direct dealing with the radiation leakage.
