Basrah is located on the Arabian Gulf. Due to the importance of its location, The University constructed the College of Marine Sciences and a research center of Marine Sciences
* The University owns:
A scientific team to dive in the seas.
- Three research boats were refurnished, they are in the sea near to Basrah city to monitoring the sea life and always hold postgraduate students and researchers who work in this field.
In cooperation between the University of Basrah and Wageningen University –Italy, the university will used recycle water to grow vegetables in conserving area.
