‏Within University of Basrah efforts towards environmental sustainability and expanding green areas, the Cultural Center launched a volunteer field campaign to plant trees in large areas in university's sites.

The campaign began by distributing qualitative seedlings to various areas, starting from the presidency of the University of Basrah, passing through Bab Al-Zubair Colleges Complex.

‏Director of the center, Dr. Mushtaq Salem Abdul Razzaq, said: "The campaign aims to make the spaces of our university green through tree planting campaigns, in addition to paying attention to the aesthetic aspect to raise environmental awareness in society. The campaign included providing the university presidency with various plant seedlings, and we also provided some colleges with a group of seedlings, noting that the tree planting campaign is carried out in cooperation with Al-Faris Nursery."
