Within the framework of optimal environmental sustainability.. University of Basrah organizes a symposium on preserving the coastal environment

 Marine Science Center at  University of Basrah organized a scientific symposium entitled "Preserving the Marine Environment and Sustainable Coastal Development".

The symposium aimed to enhance environmental awareness, protect marine ecosystems, and sustain the aquatic environment in Basra Governorate.

The symposium addressed an explanation of the importance of marine geology in marine environmental studies of Iraqi territorial waters and the natural and human factors that affect the coasts.

The symposium discussed the possibility of establishing a fish hatchery in Basrah Governorate to support local fish wealth and enhance cooperation between scientific and governmental bodies to ensure the protection of the marine environment and achieve sustainable development of the coasts.
